 Development of innovative masks in PDMS for the
 protection of COVID-19 with the use of technologies
 state-of-the-art.

Overview 

I9MASKS aims to use state-of-the-art technologies that allow the development of facial masks in polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS), with innovative features in the protection of COVID-19.

In this course, will be acquired knowledge for the development of several alternative models, not only of community masks (levels 2 and 3) but also masks for the protection of health professionals (level 1).

The multidisciplinary team of researchers involved in this course (MEtRICs, ALGORITMI and CMEMS), with know-how from classical mechanics to nanomedicine, has extensive experience in the development and manufacture of medical devices in PDMS.

With the development of this type of masks, students and researchers will acquire multidisciplinary knowledge in various areas of knowledge such as, graphic design and modeling, rapid prototyping, microfabrication, microfluidics, microelectronics, numerical simulation, nanotechnology and nanomedicine.
